Things you must do on the Outer Hebrides

The Standing Stones of Callanais
Immerse yourself in the mystery and energy of these 3000-year-old, giant slabs on the Isle of Lewis.

Beach walks
Take a walk on one of the fabulous beaches. For example South Uist boasts over 20 miles of brilliant, white shell beaches running continuously down the west coast. The incredible machair lands and dunes alongside these beaches are brimming with flowers and wildlife such as corncrakes and otters. Long and linear, the east coast of South Uist is composed of fjordic inlets and bays.

Harris Tweed
Find out more the famous Harris Tweed by seeing demonstrations of weaving the product. Or alternatively visit one of the Harris Tweed shops such as the one in Tarbert to purchase some as a souvenir!
