Scotland's Cities

Scotland now has seven major cities - Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Dundee, Inverness, Glasgow, Stirling and most recently, Perth - each with its own attractions and unique landmarks.

In the east the capital is overlooked by the striking Edinburgh Castle, a historic yet dynamic city where you can attend world-famous events and festivals and explore beautiful city parks including the botanical gardens.

Glasgow is the largest city in the country, famed for its art and architecture as well as housing high street stores where you can enjoy outstanding retail therapy.

Aberdeen is known as the Granite City with buildings which sparkle in the sunshine while Stirling is compact yet vibrant, filled with students from around the world and the site where famous battles played out.

Head to the Highlands to explore Inverness, set around the banks of the River Ness, enjoy discoveries in Dundee, or take in a show at the Perth Concert Hall near the banks of the mighty River Tay.

Wherever you choose to go, Scotland’s cities are always a pleasure to explore and ideal for day trips to surrounding attractions, so you can spend a few days or several weeks exploring.
